Hmong people are an ethnic group originally from China, Siberia, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Central Asia.
In the Hmong language, hmong means 'human being' or 'free people'.
Although throughout history the Hmong tribes have struggled to remain the free people, most tribes are today found in Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.

Hmong textiles are one of my favourite styles of textiles. The colours are strikingly bright with a lot of pastel palettes which I always love, and the use of pattern and stitching are so intricate and detailed.
No wonder Hmong bags and accessories are so popular, one piece will brighten an outfit or room.
