Found on Etsy

There are so many online fair trade stores out there selling Hmong Hill Tribe bags and jewellery, can be easy to find with etsy or just through search engines, but here's one I've found based in Chiang Mai:

Coin purses above range from around $9 and other bags from about $20 onwards

Spider+Lily: The Label

Australian label: Spider + Lily

I have found this brand's eye-catching bags in many boutiques around Melbourne, the photos above have been taken from the spiderandlily instagram account.

The labels website seems to be down at the moment, but I've found another site which seems to have a lot of their bags for sale online, you can find here:

Although as I cannot view their website at this stage, the facebook page does say that they are ethically produced, and I believe most are made in Northern Thailand.

Hmong

Hmong people are an ethnic group originally from China, Siberia, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Central Asia.
In the Hmong language, hmong means 'human being' or 'free people'.
Although throughout history the Hmong tribes have struggled to remain the free people, most tribes are today found in Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.

You can read more about the Hmong people and traditional textiles here:

Hmong textiles are one of my favourite styles of textiles. The colours are strikingly bright with a lot of pastel palettes which I always love, and the use of pattern and stitching are so intricate and detailed.
No wonder Hmong bags and accessories are so popular, one piece will brighten an outfit or room.
